Crafty Things

Father's Day 2013
This father's day my husband and I spent it with all of our families and shared exciting news with everyone. I decided to make items to announce to our parents that they were going to be grandparents. So here they are! The Hershey Kiss topiary was made for my poppa. The wreath was made for my father-in-law. And two wine bottles were made for my mom and mother-in-law.
Two small styrofoam balls on a dowel, put in a pot with foam

I tied a sign around the bottom

Lots of Kisses!!! And lots of glue

Sign hung in the middle of the wreath announcing the news
Hershey Kiss wreath wrapped in burlap with kisses hot glued  around it

Wine bottles wrapped in twine with a hand written note

Scrapbook paper with a vellum overlay and a hand written note

Lace ribbon wrapped around the middle of the bottle with a piece of straw looking stuff

Mother's Day 2013
This mother's day, like many in the past, I decided to make my mom a gift instead of buying one. I recently found a book of "candy bouquets" and how to make them. Since my mom isn't super into flowers I decided this would be the perfect substitute!! I wish that I would have taken pictures all along while making it but I will remember to do so with the next one! All I used was a clay flower pot spray painted brown, a large Styrofoam ball spray painted gold, mini reeses hot glued to the ball, a knitting needle as the post, more styrofoam spray painted gold also in the pot to hold the post and ball, and clear and gold glass marble/bead things used for decorating. Hope you like it! I call this Mom's Reese Topiary :)
