Gender Reveal Party Process

My husband and I (meaning just me) decided to have a gender reveal party with our close family and friends to find out what we are having. Since I try to be as crafty as possible, I decided to make the invitations myself. Using some pre-cut card stock, vellum, brads, and our printer, we were able to make something really cute! My mom came up with a short little poem about our "seedling" and I used some clip art to enhance the poem. We printed it on vellum and let them dry. Add a couple brads at the top and Voila!! Here is the first start to the process of our party! Can't wait to see what else we are going to come up with<3

First Trimester Down!! Woot

I have finally passed into the second trimester of my pregnancy. Although I am still super tired all the time, I'm hoping here in the next couple of weeks I'll gain back some of my energy. Everything is looking great so far. I have been one of those people that does not get morning sickness.. at all!! Woot woot for that! It's been so easy that I'm truly surprised. Now I bet I just jinxed myself. On the other hand, so many women get the "glow" and I sure don't have that. My hormones suck and my acne is terrible. Ugh just my luck. Other than that I sure can't complain. Here's to the next trimester going smoothly!!<3

Here are my belly shots so far! I decided to do a comparison of what women would say the size of the fetus is compared to men. The list gets better as the weeks progress! Keep a lookout :)

Time to expand..

Today was the first day that I took a belly picture of my newly expanding belly! I am super excited to take one every week to see our progress and be able to show our little one as much of our pregnancy as possible when he/she is older. I'm just over 11 weeks today. So far no nausea, morning sickness, or much pain at all. The only thing I am experiencing hard core is irritability. I can be your BFF one second and a total witch the next. Oops, sorry hubby!! I'm really interested to see how I feel in the second trimester since everyone says its so much better than the first! I've decided to do belly pictures compared to what women think about (fruits and veggies) and what men think about (NOT fruits and veggies). Here's the start to a long and welcome process :)

It's Baby Time!!!

Well it's time for some good, exciting news! We have been saying for almost a year now that our lives are in God's hands and if it happens, it happens. We can now say we are very excited that we will be having a baby!! Although my husband is already a father, and I am a step mom, this will be our first baby together. I can't wait to start this journey.

Happy Mother's Day!!

What a great Mother's Day it has been this year! Ever since I can remember we have always had a family get together to celebrate the wonderful and influential women in our lives. This year was no exception, although I switched it up a bit. I decided to have the get together at our house, while my husband and I cooked for our mothers. It was a great day with amazing food (my husband is a beast when it comes to grilling), amazing people, and some nice quality time. Hope everyone else can say they had a great day too!
Dinner: Grilled Chicken, Balsamic Onion Grilled Veggies, and Baked Potatoes.. Yum!

Marriage isn't always a walk in the park..

Lately, my husband and I have been getting in little tifs and just at each other's throats more often. I'm not saying I am a perfect person or wife, but I do believe we have a great life together. Something has just been missing. We both say we miss how we used to be with each other before we got married. I have recently been introduced to a book called "The Five Love Languages" by Dr. Gary Chapman. This book is so amazing!!!! Whether you have a great marriage or your marriage is on the brink of disaster, this book is for YOU!! It talks about every person having a specific "love language" that they speak and need to have spoken to them in order to feel loved. They include: Words of Affirmation  Quality Time, Gift Receiving, Acts of Service, and Physical Touch. My love language is Acts of Service, meaning that kind act done by my husband (laundry, dishes, taking the dogs out, cooking dinner, etc.) make me feel loved the most. They are what I need in life in order to feel the real emotional love that comes after the "in love obsession." I truly believe this book will be able to help my husband and I. It can help you too!!! Check out the link below for just a glimpse, but I strongly recommend the book to anyone and everyone! Happy marriage to all!

Curiousity got the best of me

Well here goes nothing! I'm not sure blogging is really my thing. I don't have a way with words that make people want to continue to read what I'm saying, but let's give it a try. With all the hype of pinterest, blogs come up all the time from things getting pinned. I decided why not make one so that I can share things my family and I like as well! :)
